I apologize for my late response, but the workload is just crazy.
We have found out what the problem is.
There is a difference between printing and saving a pdf.
When printing, links are not kept by pdf.
When saving the report as pdf, the links are active in the pdf.
So problem solved.

Hello Lech, when I am in the preview of the pdf printing the hyperlinks are marked. My mouse cursor changes into a hand and I can click on the link and switch to the page where the hyperlink is leading to. That is what I expect a hyperlink should do. thank you for your response.
In the meanwhile we were able to figure out what the problem was caused by.
It was the size of the image.
The size has been reduced down to 132 KB and now it is being shown in the print as well.
