Reports.Wpf .NET Core 3 support

Post by fahrettin »

Do you have any schedule to support .NET Core 3 for Reports.Wpf?

As you know, Microsoft has declared that .NET Core 3 will support Windows desktop applications (WinForms, WPF, UWP) in May 2018. A few days ago they announced .NET Core 3 Preview 1, which supports WPF (Now open sourced) applications.

We are developing a modern and complex WPF project, which has several third party dependencies, including Stimulsoft Reports.Wpf. We want to ship it with .NET Core 3, to take advantage of new features, such as self-contained apps and performance improvements.

We tried to migrate our WPF project to .NET Core. We were able to import and run ALL of the dependencies, except for Stimulsoft Reports.Wpf. When we try "report.Render()", an exception is thrown: "Operation is not supported on this platform".

Some third party dependencies have already prepared their .NET Core 3 builds, and we directly used their new packages/dlls. For others that are not ready yet, wen are able to use their old libraries along with Windows Compatibility Pack for .NET Core (https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsof ... patibility, https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsof ... lity.Shims).

We hope Stimulsoft, too, will be ready for this long-waited and promising move from Microsoft, as soon as possible.

Hello,

All of our NET Core components support .NET Standard 2.0 and higher.
As soon as .NET Core 3.0 is released, we will consider the support option for our WPF and WinForms components under .NET Standard 3.0.

Thank you.

Hello,

Telerik has already announced Wpf Reporting support for .Net Core 3.0 (https://www.telerik.com/support/whats-new/reporting).

Do you have any schedule for Reports.Wpf, too?

Thanks.

don't you think maybe it's better to start seeing after the release of the RC version?

Hello,

.Net Core 3.0 final release has already been announced (https://devblogs.microsoft.com/dotnet/a ... -core-3-0/).

Are you planning to add .Net Core 3.0 support to Reports.Wpf in near future?

Thank you.

I respect you and I am your satisfied customer for five years now.
But sorry here we too must plan and make decisions.
I ask you at least to be clearer about the timing, so everyone can evaluate what to do for their projects

thanks
