adding resources from the server

Hi,
I am trying to get the designer to point to a csv file that is located on the sever. The only option I see to add a csv file as a resource is from a local file on my computer, can you point me to instructions to accomplish this? I am also having save issue trying to use an image that is on the server as well instead of using one on my machine, thanks
