Designer, error 500: how could I debug what causes it?

Sometimes I get a 500 internal server error when opening a dashboard or starting the preview.
While most of the times I could track the problem to the last change I made, like an error on a text box function or whatever, other times it's more difficult to check what causes it.
It is possible to get the error stack or at least some informations on what is the context which caused it?
