Need some help with groups

Post by Jennypi »

Hello,

I'm joining a report as well as data sample (please adapt the path for the datasource)
I'm having problems to display one label per plot2+plant2 (sometimes plant is empty) and then one label for each combination of plot1*plot2
What I would like to display are labels in this order:
2681
2681*2650
2682.1
2682.2
2682.3
2682.5
2682.6
2690.1*2682.1
2697.1*2682.1
2684.1*2682.2
2691.1*2682.2
2685.1*2682.3
2692.1*2682.5
2687.1*2682.5
2694.1*2682.6
2683
2695*2683
2684.1
2684.2
2696.1*2684.1
2697.1*2684.1
2698.1*2684.2
2699.1*2684.2

Hope it's clear.
Is it possible to do that?

Thanks!

Hello,

Sorry, maybe we did not exactly understand your logic. Could you explain your issue in more details?

Thank you.

I don't know what I can explain more.
I attached a report as well as data sample.
Because I group by plot2 + plant2, you can see that data are printed out that way:
2681
2681*2650
2682.1
2690.1*2682.1
2697.1*2682.1
2682.2
2684.1*2682.2
2691.1*2682.2
2682.3
2685.1*2682.3
2682.5
2692.1*2682.5
2687.1*2682.5
2682.6
2694.1*2682.6
2683
2695*2683
2684.1
2696.1*2684.1
2697.1*2684.1
2684.2
2698.1*2684.2
2699.1*2684.2

Instead of that, I would like all the plant2 groupped together for one plot2, followed by the couples plot1.plant1 * plot 2.plant2:
2681
2681*2650
2682.1
2682.2
2682.3
2682.5
2682.6
2690.1*2682.1
2697.1*2682.1
2684.1*2682.2
2691.1*2682.2
2685.1*2682.3
2692.1*2682.5
2687.1*2682.5
2694.1*2682.6
2683
2695*2683
2684.1
2684.2
2696.1*2684.1
2697.1*2684.1
2698.1*2684.2
2699.1*2684.2

Is it clearer?
thank you.

Hello,

Unfortunately, only with GroupHeaderBands, it is not possible. You structure and logic are not enough for grouping. You should add an additional column which will contain a necessary order for grouping.

Thank you.

Hello,

Would it be possible to help me with setting up such a design? Can you provide me with a simple example which would group as I want?
My user is awaiting for this change which would make her work easier, but unfortunately I'm not enough an expert to satisfy her needs :(

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

Directly, in the designer, it is not possible.

You structure and logic are not enough for grouping. You should add an additional column in your data source which will contain a necessary order for grouping.

Thank you.

Hello,

I'm very sad and disapointed that you cannot help me further. This forum used to be much more helpful. I feel like non-coding users are left on their own, with limited functionnalities.

Hello,

Without modification data it is not possible. Please check report with modified data.

Thank you.
