TextOptions.Trimming properties are not working in HTML view

Post by lanfro »

Hi!

We are using Stimulsoft Reports. Net version 2014.1.1900.

In the report designer, setting property TextOptions.Trimming=Ellipsis Character on text fields has no effect when viewing the report in "HTML preview" or "Web preview". The text is simply cut off, without trailing dots in the end. However when viewing it in the "Preview" tab page it works. But we are displaying reports on a webpage using HTML viewer and need the TextOptions.Trimming=Ellipsis Character to work there. Is this a bug or is text trimming not supported in HTML viewer?
If it is not supported, will it be supported in future releases? It looks bad in the report when the text is just chopped off.

Downloaded Stimulsoft Reports 2017.1.8 and tried the TextOptions.Trimming=Ellipsis Character property in one of the demo reports. Selected a text field and set following properties:
- CanGrow = False
- Word Wrap = False
- Text Options.Trimming = Ellipsis Character.

In "HTML Preview" the text is still word wrapped without any trailing dots. In "Flash Preview" and "JS Preview" the text is cutted right off in the end without dots. However in "Preview" tab page it is displaying correct with dots in the end. The behaviour is different in each viewer meaning you can not expect certain things that work in "Preview" to work in other viewers as well. It is rather annoying.

Regards
Frode

Hello,

This feature was been not available in browsers when export was implemented.
We need some additional time to investigate this feature.

Thank you.
