Viewer doesnt open anymore

Like the title says. Yesterday I linked the .mrt files with the Designer and since today
the Viewer wont open anymore. I tried anything reinstall delete the standard file options.
nothing worked. When I open the Viewer.Exe the window with create new report or open
existing comes and not the viewer and if i choose a File the Designer opens.
Even tried to create a WinForm project just with the viewerControl but this cannot open
.mrt files.
Any Help how to get the Viewer working again?

Hello,

Could you explain your issue in more details, do you have any errors, messages when open reports?

Also please try to remove the settings folder by the following path:
[C]:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Stimulsoft\

Tried this as well right now.
There is no message or error while opening.
On my Computer if I open the Viewer.exe there is promptly the screen
with create a new report.
Yesterday the Viewer with the Demo files opened and I could export my report to excel.
Now only the Designer opens.

Hi Naico,

Is that happening only on one pc or you are able to reproduce the same problem on other desktop or laptop computers?
What is the version number of Stimulsoft Reports.Net you are using? Is the same issue happens if you just re-install the latest release using not the archive, but the installer? The installer should hopefully resolve any issues with missing files or settings.
It is really difficult to suggest anything when no error messages is shown and without of the full picture of the problem you are facing.

Maybe the best advice would be to delete the whole folder that Lech mentioned above and not only the settings and to reinstall the product using the installer?

I deinstalled everything. I deletet the folder in AppData. I deletet the Folder in regedit which is used for
standard opening settings.
Im using the newest version and used the full installer.
On another computer this problem is not happening.

Which settings do you need to know?

On 18.04. it still worked and all I changed was that .mrt files will be
started atomatically with the Designer.

If you would like to open the designer by double-clicking the mrt file, please check the required changes you need to do in the windows registry, as it was suggested in the following topic:

That is not the problem. The problem is that AFTER I changed this setting the Viewer doesnt work anymore and only the Designer opens even when im starting Viewer.exe.

Hi Naico,

The issue has been fixed and will be available in the new build that we expecting to release next week.

In the meantime, you can restore the Demo reports list by adding their location in the following dialogue form of the viewer.exe:
NewPlace.png

Just click 'Add Place' and then please point to the following location that contains all the demo reports:

C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Local\Stimulsoft\Demo-Reports-2018.1.8
