Company Name

You probably have heard this before, but I just thought I would voice my opinion about Stimulsoft, which is: "Amazing fantastic products! Horrible company name!"

The first couple of developers I showed your online demos to were able to laugh about it a bit, but it's become more of an issue now that we're getting serious about making a purchase decision. Management forms much stronger opinions based on the perception of the company.

I've had feedback such as "Why would we go with this 'Stimulsoft' company out of Russia when we can get a professional product like Crystal Reports". Of course, I counter with the argument that Crystal is much more expensive and doesn't even come close to meeting our needs, but perhaps the argument could be avoided if the company name sounded more professional.

I mean no disrespect. Perhaps the name was part of one of your founder's surnames. Or perhaps it was intended to mean "Stimulating Software" - such as the desired effect of the wonderful reporting solution. But in all honesty, it comes across as either a fly-by-night operation, or something you'd see from the pornography industry.

Just some constructive feedback for you to ponder.

Hello,
You probably have heard this before, but I just thought I would voice my opinion about Stimulsoft, which is: "Amazing fantastic products! Horrible company name!"
Thank you for the words. We heard them before but it does not mean that it is not a pleasure to hear them again and again! :)
Management forms much stronger opinions based on the perception of the company.
This is a very strange point of view. I would admit it if you choose between Snickers or Mars. Which one sounds better? In my opinion the priority should have the product features, product capabilities and other things which meet your requirements, save your money and time. Time is priceless.
Why would we go with this 'Stimulsoft' company out of Russia when we can get a professional product like Crystal Reports
Here is the link http://www.stimulsoft.com/ReportsNet20ProblemsInfo.aspx . These 20 problems are based on advantages of our product over Crystal Report.
You may also read http://stimulsoft.com/Testimonials.aspx . Here you can read what people think about us. Please also read the John Hamilton's post which is very detailed in explanation why he chose STIMULSOFT.
I mean no disrespect.
Thank you. I understand this.

No.
Or perhaps it was intended to mean "Stimulating Software" - such as the desired effect of the wonderful reporting solution.
The company name was carefully chosen. It took a lot of time. We also surfed the Internet trying to find phrases with words included into our company name which may harm other nations. Found nothing.
Stimulsoft consist of two words.
Stimul (derived from Stimulus). Stimulus - something that acts as an incentive to (someone) (Collins Dictionary). In our case this word means cooperation, interaction, synergy between our company and customers. When a customer needs help he acts as a stimulus that is applied to "a sensory receptor" which is our support team and development department. It elicits or influences "a reflex". In our case this is our reaction. And we put all our efforts to help a customer. In physiology, a stimulus is often the first component of a homeostatic control system. In our case we mean a harmony between us and customers.

Soft means software - the programs used with a computer.

We have a company name, a brand name of a company which develops reporting tools (very good tools) for different platforms. And are very proud of our name.

Thank you.
