Tooltip on steped area chart

When using a stepped area chart (of any area chart for that matter) the tool tip only shows if you mouse over the very top tip of the graph, not any where else. So this is quite annoying if you mouse over a coloured bit of the graph you dont' get the tool top.
Is there a way to get the tool tip to appear when you mouse over any part of the coloured graph like it does with all the other graph types?
