Designer fails to register its file ext associations

Hi Guys
2025.4.3 when installed dos not register its file ext association, thus when an .mrt file is double clicked we get a prompt to select a default application with only one option ("just Once") . Accepting this has no effect and ay subsequent double clicking of the file just repeated the process.

I have done a full re-install and a reboot plus a number of other windows suggestions without success

Can this issue be addressed please
