The problem is still the same only the designer opens after starting viewer.exe.
The problem are not the Demo reports the problem is with testing export to excel mainly.

Could you please confirm that you are not able to open Viewer.exe anymore by launching viewer.exe?
Have you got some specific reports for Excel Export testing? If yes, then you could point Viewer.exe to the folder with your reports (see the '+ Add a Place' button in my previous reply), so instead of Demo reports you will be able to work with your specific set of test reports for the Excel Export testing.
