We were encountering the "The path is not of legal form" exception when we were trying export to HTML. When we investigated the problem, we could identify that the issue is when the export engine attempts to convert the shape controls used in the report as image and fails to write it into the web directory. We were encountering this issue in debug mode. We are not sure if this will be the case post deployment in Windows 2003 IIS.

Have any one of you encountered this problem? Also, pls suggest a solution for this problem.

The problem was with shapes only. We have now replaced the shape with horizontal rule and it works now.

However, we are curious to know on using shapes in HTML reports.
