We are evaluating using Stimulsoft as a reporting tool which currently uses Cognos.
Can you please tell us what are benefits of using Stimulsoft over Cognos?

10.Multiple page reporting
11.Schedule and burst multi page report to the client
12.Dynamic sorting on more than 5 detail columns in the report based on user selection in the prompt page
13.Maximum join level and number of tables on a database query.
14.Create shortcut for database query which can be used in multiple reports
15.Multiple prompt pages in a report
16.Move saved reports to corresponding folder structure

We would appreciate if you can confirm which features amongst the above are supported in StimulSoft?

Most of features you ask we support.
However it seems that you need report server. Unfortunately, our reporting tool is not a report server.

This term is too wide. Could you clarify exactly what you mean?

2. Service based

We don't provide special services which can be used for report generation in report server mode. But you can create your own service which can be used for report generation and etc.

3. Event based

Can you clarify this requirements in more details?

4. High performance

Yes you can render report with high performance, but many depend from type of data and type of reports which used.

5. Scalable
6. Maintainability
7. Interoperability
8. Reliability

These parameters are too abstract to answer them yes or no or how something simple sentence.

9. Level of Grouping (limit)

You can use unlimit level of grouping.

10.Multiple page reporting

Yes of course.

11.Schedule and burst multi page report to the client

This is function of report server. We don't provide special methods to do it.

12.Dynamic sorting on more than 5 detail columns in the report based on user selection in the prompt page

Yes.

13.Maximum join level and number of tables on a database query.

Our report engine is not based on database queries. Usually our customers use Ado.Net and business-objects. But we don't set any restrctions on maximum join level and number of tables.

14.Create shortcut for database query which can be used in multiple reports

This requiremenet can be applyed to report engine. Its from report server.

15.Multiple prompt pages in a report

Yes.

16.Move saved reports to corresponding folder structure

This is requrement for report server. I can't say yes or no.

Just a small favour if possible, can you please attach a snapshot of the prompt pages (for eg Say for a Date prompt.It should ask the user to enter the date )in stimulsoft.

Can we set session based (as per US/UK user session parameters) date formats for a report in stimulsoft and also, does it support multiple datasource within a query?

You can use different Culture settings for report rendering depending on user session parameters.

does it support multiple datasource within a query?

Yes we support different datasources. You can use more than one datasources in report.
