"logarithmic scale" option has no effect?
"logarithmic scale" option has no effect?
Hi. When I used the Line chart, I need use the "logarithmic scale" function to make my chart look better, but nothing happened after setting that option to "true", can you give me any advice? By the way, How to use the "auto Series ..." options?

Hello.
You should use the Spline series.
If you need to create several series, you should set the Auto Series Key Data Column property to create a new Series for each new value of this property.
Also you could set the Auto Series Color Data Column and Auto Series Title Data Column properties to set the Color and Title for each series.
Thank you.
The Logarithmic Scale property is for scaling of the axis but not for beautifying your chart.fly51fly wrote:When I used the Line chart, I need use the "logarithmic scale" function to make my chart look better, but nothing happened after setting that option to "true", can you give me any advice? I thought "logarithmic scale" could scale down the large number and the smaller numbers looks not so short(Y ax not uniform) so that all lines's trend are obversable, that's right ?

Hello.
Thank you.
This property works with Scatter Line Series only. Please, try to use it.fly51fly wrote:I thought "logarithmic scale" could scale down the large number and the smaller numbers looks not so short(Y ax not uniform) so that all lines's trend are obversable, that's right ?

Re: "logarithmic scale" option has no effect?
Hi. I came across this post while searching for logarithmic scale in Stimulsoft report. As i was not able to create e new topic i opted to reply to this post instead.
When i used scatter line chart then set the Y-Axis logarithmic scale property to true, I expected that the values that will be displayed in Y-axis would be: 1, 10, 100, 1000, 10000 etc.
But instead it displayed: 1,2,3..10,20,30...100, 200,300...1000, etc.
And if I assigned a string value in X-Axis it does not plot the values in the chart. It only worked when i assigned another number value in its X-Axis. But in line chart it accepts string value in x-axis.
How can I remove the in between values (2,3,..9..20,30..90,etc) in Y-axis to only display 1,10,100,1k,10k,etc?
How can I assign a string value in X-axis in a scatter line chart?
I used 2014.3 version when I tried this.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks!

Hello,
Unfortunately, it is not possible to set Range, it calculated automatically.
For the X-Axis should be set only numeric values.
Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.
I just have some follow up questions:
- does the limitation on setting the range also apply to other charts?
- does the logarithmic scale property only work with Scatter line series? even in the latest stimulsoft version?

Hello,
- no, only for logarithmic.
- yes, only for Scatter line series.

Also, we have added that task to our to-do list.
Thank you.
