A Way to Reopen a. mrt File That Did not Render

Hello,
I am not a developer. I am trying to create/use some reports for our site. I am having few problems, here are couple of things that are bugging me the most.
1. The inability to edit a .mrt file after an error is generated. Please see attached file for details ( Pages 1 & 2)
2. When used with Sitecore, the reports designer only renders the reports listed under the 'Analyze"->'Reports'->'Item Reports'. How come the rest of reports do not render when clicked? Pages 3 of the attached file.
3. Again when used with Sitecore, when I click open a report, it asks me to select the .mrt file listed on my local machine, how can I select an .mrt file that is on the site. i.e looking at page 3 of the attached file, how can I open the 'Visits' .mrt file using the repots desginer.
