Showstopper problem with new release 2013.2.1700.0

Hello,

i have a real probelm with the latest major release 2013.2.1700.0 which i installed today. Some of my reports which worked for a long time now and which i haven't change since then are now rendering forever and forever. The rendering progress is counting to thousand and thousand of pages and do not come to an end. After interrupting the rendering process the resulting report has thousand of pages and all of them are empty.

I cannot send you a sample report because it is integrated in our company framework and it would take too much time to change this kind of report and create sample data. Maybe you heard of this problem from other users. Can you help somehow? Otherwise i have to switch back to the previous release of Stimulsoft.Ultimate.

By the way, some of my other reports working as expected with the new release.

Thanks
Thorsten Pontow

Hello.

We didn't hear about this problem before.
Which version did you use before?
Could you send us at least your report template for analysis.

Thank you.

Hello Aleksey,

the version i uesd before was 2013.2.1606.0. I attached a report template which currently has infinite rendering process.

Kind regard

Hello.

We don't see any problems in this report template.
There could be problem in a sub-report or with business objects that you use.
Could you send us a sample project which reproduce this issue?

Thank you.

Hello Aleksey,

my report works again with 2013.2.1700.0 after switching the engine version from V2 to V1. Maybe this can help you to solve the problem. I used V2 with previous Stimulsoft release but that is a workaround for me at least.

Kind regards

Hello.

Unfortunately, we have no idea why there is such issue.
There wasn't any large changes in our report engine v2.
We need sample data for your report to reproduce the issue.
Maybe you can create sample project which reproduces it.

Thank you.

Hello,

meanwhile i switched to Version 2013.3.1801.0 but the problem still exists. Some of my reports can only be renderd with use of EngineV1.

I attached the report template and the output of the rendering process using EngineV1. Maybe you can tell me what i have to change in the template file so that EngineV2 rendering is possible again? Or maybe my report design is bad and there is somewhere a structure which causes an infinite loop?

Thanks

Additional information: The report renders forever even if i don't register my business objects for header and main data band. So you should reproduce the error without connecting the report to data.

Hello.

The report is rendered without data as well when we set the Engine Version to EngineV2.
You also use external sub-report. The problem could be in the sub-report.
So we need a sample project with business objects which reproduces the issue.

Thank you.

Hello Aleksey,

you were right! The problem was in the external subreport. The subreport is a simple page with a few StiText controls. But all controls are embedded in one panel. After removing the panel and placing all controls directly in the page everything works fine now.

I think it should be possible to use a panel in a page, even if it is a subreport page! There were no problems with such a structure in earlier versions of Stimulsoft Ultimate. Any explanation for that behaviour?

Thanks and regards
Thorsten
