When I try to export a report to PDF via the Silverlight Report Viewer or via the RespondAsPDF command in ASP.Net, the resulting PDF does not show any of the Chinese characters correctly.

From experience, this thing can happen when the language packs are not installed in windows. Does SS have the same dependency or have I stumbled across another kind of issue?

Hello.

Most of the standard fonts does not contain national characters. In this case Windows uses the "font fallback". This algorithm is very complicated and, therefore, is not realized in the exports. To output national characters, please, use the font which contain all necessary characters. For example, the "Arial Unicode MS" font contains many national characters.
