I have a master databand with two child databands. IF one of detail data is empty, the other detail will not be shown.
Is it possible to have one master with two details? If so, what is the problem with my report?

Please, try to set Print If Detail Empty property of the Bands to True.

I have tried this but it shows master when no detail is available and this is not what i want.Is there any other solution?

Then we need to see your report template with sample data to help you.
Could you also send us a screen-shot of the report that shown what is wrong in the rendered report?

In this report i have a master with two detail databands(First and Second DataBand). The second detail has a filter but the first does not.
I set Print IF Detail Empty of master to false. When because of filter, the second detail is empty, the master wont be shown.
When i set Print IF Detail Empty of master to true (uploaded report) ,then it shows master when no detail is available.In report,there is no detail for [categoryID] 7 and 8 ,but the master still shows up!
