Strange issue with Windows 10

Hi,
an application that works fine under Windows 7 has been tested under Window 10. Unfortunately, now printing on page-printing-devices does not seem to work anymore.
Here some informations:
- The preview works perfect.
- I can export the preview as a PDF, this works perfectly too.
- I can print on lineprinters (matrix-printers) with PrintToDotMatrixPrinter when they are installed as "Generic/Text Only"
- When I try to print on a pageprinter (Laser) with PrintWithWpf nothing seems to be sent to the printer. In the queue one can very shortly see, that an empty print-job is created that disappears immediatly. Nothing is printed...
- Same is true when I try to create a PDF-File using the Windows-BuiltIn-PDF-Printer.
- No error-messages is shown. Both the application and windows do not complain about anything.
- Tried this with HP and Infotec-Printers.
Installation:
- .Net 4.0.30319
- Stimulsoft Reports.Wpf 2014.2.1903.0
- Windows 10 Profesional, 64 bit, Version 1511 (build 10586.71)
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Pascal

Hello, Pascal.
There is
a known issue with printing in .Net Framework 4.6.
Also we got
the issue with HP printers. It is not solved yet but have a workaround.
Thank you.

Hi,
thanks for the answer.
We are NOT using Net 4.6 but rather 4.0 as I previously explained, so this can't be the source of the issue.
Further the issue is not restricted to HP since the same problem hits Infotec-Printers too, as previously described.
Like i said, everything works perfectly for all kind of printers under Windows 7. Starting with Windows 10 only PrintToDotMatrixPrinter seems to work correctly...
Still looking for answers here...
Regards,
Pascal

Hello, Pascal.
It's no matter what .Net Framework you use. We meet this issue if the .Net Framework 4.6 is just installed in the system. Also if you install the .Net Framework 4.6 on Windows 7 you will get the same issue.
Please, try our latest build. It will help us to localize the issue.
Or this could be the HP printer issue. It was not only on HP printers but on other printers too.
Thank you

Hi,
so you're saying that regardless what .Net-Version the application actually uses, the simple existence of .Net 4.6 on the machine would be enough to create the problem? Wow...
Do you know whether Win 10 automatically installs .Net 4.6?
Cheers,
Pascal

Hello, Pascal.
We don't really know if this issue is connected with your problem but we almost sure.
.Net Framework 4.6 is installed with Windows 10 by default.
The issue is already fixed but the fix will be available in the next build of .Net Framework.
Thank you.

Hi,
our system-admin here has been trying to setup different kind of environments, and the application works fine under Windows 7 even with .Net 4.6 oder 4.6.1 installed.
It still does not print under Windows 10 and .Net 4.6. Even with 4.6.1 nothing is printed on page-printers. We can only print to the preview or directly to PDF.
You said the bug had been fixed by Microsoft. Do you know with which version of .Net the fix will be delivered?
Thanks,
Pascal

Hello, Pascal.
Unfortunately, we don't know in what version of .Net Framework the bug will be fixed.
We faced other issues with printing from WPF on Windows 10.
Do you use Duplex printing or does your report contains an empty pages?
Thank you.

No, we do not use either.
Just simple printing, no duplex, no empty pages.
But the printjob is always empty, disappears almost immediately from the queue and nothing is printed...

Pascal
