Page Size Question

It seems that the each of the "bands" (Report Title, Report Summary, Data, etc) take .2 inches height away from the page height in the report designer. This space is used to display the title area in the designer. But this impacts the actual page size. What this means is that each band you add to a report "eats" .2 inches of usable space on the report designer. As an example, I have a report with 0; 0; 0; 0 as the margins. A Width of 1 and a Height of 1.4. If I create a report title band and size it to the full size of the page, and then fill the title band with a black brush, notice the .2 inches at the bottom of the Preview of the report that are white (this is just a dumb report to demonstrate the problem). There is no way to "use" this part of the report (the white area at the bottom). How are we supposed to use this area? Every band we add creates .2 inches more "unusable area" at the bottom.
Thanks

Hello,

In the Net, WPF and SL versions of the Designer you can use the ShowHeaders button on the panel to hide bands headers.
In the Web version of the designer this feature will be available in the next official release.
As a workaround, you can use the LargeHeight property of the page.
The height of the page in the designer will be visually increased several times (depends on the LargeHeightFactor property of the page, by default 4).
Now you can place several big bands on the page.

Thank you.

This works good ... but there is no way to "see" where the page actually ends (based on the page height). Is there a way to have it show a dotted line or something so the designer knows where the page actually ends when using "Large Height" = true ?

Thanks

Please, see an image. In your report it may be under the Report Title. If you need to set Report Title Height as Page Height then you should do it in the property of the Report Title Band. This difficulty occurs because of the green header of Band in Design time.

Thank you.

Are you sure this feature made it into the 2011.3.1106.0 SW_2011.10.27 build? I do not see any lines (see screenshots).

Sorry, we added this line in WinForms Designer yet. It will be available in one of our nearest prerelease builds.

Thank you.
