problem using input parameters as filter

We have created a report with a variable that is set to request user input.
We then use this variable as value for a filter. When we preview the report in the designer we get asked for a value for the variable. When we submit the value, the filter changes to that value and the data shown in the report is filtered.
When we open the same report in the webviewerfx we are also asked for a value for the variable. When we submit a value for this variable the data shown on the report doesn't change.
Any ideas what we could be doing wrong?

Can you share How you had filter data in preview mode of report on submit button click .? filter value inputed by user or drop-down list available to select value .

You can use the "Request From User" option for variables, and then use these variables in the filtering of components.

I had used variables and trying to filter data when user click on submit button of variable in report preview . data is not refreshed in report .
