Panel with CanGrow set increases to whole height

Having a panel and putting a databand on it and then setting CanGrow and CanShrink makes the panel increase to the full height of the page.
Any idea what's going wrong there?

Hello,
Yes, that correct behavior for Panel which placed directly on the Page. Try to place it on the band.

Thats what I've tried to avoid
If I could make a wish, it would be a feature which allows to structure a page with WPF-like dock panels, stack panels and grids instead of bands.
