Simple Hierarchy band not working

I am attempting to create a very simple report to work out how the hierarchy band can help - but nothing renders - see attached
I have only attempted to render the line in a hierarchy under its parent - but not getting a result.

Please clarify which product and version are you use? How do you add your XML sources?
