How to use conditional formatting in cross tables

Post by jlorue »

Hi,
I have built a cross table, were I need to use conditional fomatting.

In the attached example you will see that I need to paint the cells based on their values compared with max & min targets.

Example: KPI1 needs to be between 5 and 10. Therefore, any value beyond these limits is painted in red.

(please note that each KPI has its own target limits)

I could not find in conditional formatting for cross table any option to compare with another data of the table (like the min or max of this case).

How can I do that?

Thanks

Hello,

Could you send us your report with test data for analysis?

Thank you.

Hi Lech,
I prepared a simple sample report with an excel file trying to replicate the case. I am not sure if this is OK, but I hope it can help.
The point is that each kpi has a min and a max possible value. Beyond these limits I should paint the values in red.
How can I do that?

Hi Lech,

Just to double check, let me ask you the questionn in other way.

Is it possible in a pivot table to specifiy a condition for a value cell that depends on some other cell´s value?

I have attached the conditions form, where I highlighted the field I am referring to. Instead of just manually defining a value, is it possible to make a reference to other cell? (eg {table.max})

This condition option is available in the conditions form of a normal table, but can be available for a pivot table condition?

Thanks

Hello,

It is not possible for the Pivot Table component.

Thank you.

OK, thanks for clarifying.

Let me ask you one more question given that this is extremely important to me.

Please take a look at the attached inage as an example of the conditional capability I would need in pivot tables. Let´s suppose that in the same mysql row of the data field I need to show in the pivot table (let's call it "kpi") there is another field (let´s call it "validation") that has 2 values: 1 (in target) and 0 (out of target). I could use the exiting conditional feature to compare this "validation" field against 1 or 0, but I would need the "kpi" field to be painted based on that comparison. Is there any possibility to implement what I show in the image, so I can get the "kpi" field painted (the destination field) based on the data field value condition?

Looking forward to your comments to find alternatives to make it work.

Thanks!!!

Hello,

Unfortunately, at the current moment, it is not possible, only static values.

Thank you.

OK Lech, I understand.

Do you have any plans to add to the existing conditional formatting capabilities in pivot tables the possibility to paint another cell based on the static value comparison?

Thanks

Hello,

We have added that task to our to-do list. But we can not say when it will be implemented.

Thank you.
