Data Grouping Issues

Hi guys,
I'm having some difficulty with data grouping. I want to create a report that shows customer purchase history, grouped by year and then by product category within each year. When I try to set up the grouping hierarchy, I can only group by one field at a time. I can't seem to create nested groups like year and then product category within each year. I'm open to any suggestions or workarounds that might help me achieve the desired report layout.
