question about list variable

Hello,
I'm using list variables to filter my report and I choosed keys and labels from datasource as is shown below.
In most cases,it works fine.However,data root_addons.name may sometimes be [].In designer,there's no error,but when using in js,after i click submit,I got cannot read properties of null.
