Hi,

Is it possible to set the back ground color for the print area (i mean except the margins)?

Yes, it is possible. Please use for that the Overlay Band. Set the Height of this Band equal to the Height of the page and also set LargeHeight property of the Page in true.

This band is a sort of "Watermark" for the page.
