We are using the pure Silverlight version of Stimulsoft reports, we have noted that where the Text Field has the option to "Allow HTML Tags" set to true, if the user exports the report to MS Word or Excel that the formatting is incorrect.
1) Create a report in the designer, add a text control
2) For the text control, add "Allow HTML Tags"
3) Under the expression, insert some text and include some HTML tags (e.g. <B> </B>)
4) Render the report in the viewer
5) Choose Save then Microsoft Word file
6) Notice that the exported MS Word document does not correctly export the text.
I also note that the text is exported as a picture control, which means it is not editable after being exported.
Are these known issues, and when can we expect them to be fixed?
Unfortunately, on current moment it is working as is.
We have added this request in our to-do list. We will try to implement it in the nearest future.
Are you able to indicate when it might be resolved?
It would seem like a major problem in the export function and we are getting bad responses from our customers who use our software, it is not a good situation.
Unfortunately, on current moment, I can not say when it will be available.
We will let you know about the result in this topic.
Is this fixed now?
We user silverlight designer, which version of SL supports HTML tags?
Unfortunately, the native version work as is.
As a way, you can render and export report on the server side (will be exported with .NET engine) and then send result on the client.
Is there already a solution for that?
I have the very simular issue.
We have a simple report with text columns and the setting "Allow HTML". When exporting this to CSV it also exports all HTML tags. Is there a way to prevent this and only export plain text
Please clarify which product and version are you use.
Unfortunately, HTML tags are not supported in the CVS export.
