When ReportCacheMode is Off the viewer just displays an exclamation mark.

Please indicate, this sign appears immediately after running the viewer, or over time? Please try using another browser for testings. We think that this is a Flash Player error message about lack of memory because of the large report.

I've the same error on IE9 (not chrome) when previewing a big report from the designer (> 500 pages). Is there something I can do about it? At least catching the error and display a friendly message to the user?
