We've had a request from a customer that if we can, to produce PDF's without Tagging.
Once created, the PDF's are processed through another application, and we are told that in some cases Tagged PDFs do not process well.
Is there any way to prevent Tagging?
Or is there any particular control properties in the templates that we can watch out for to prevent a PDF from been marked as Tagged?
turning off Tagged PDF?
Re: turning off Tagged PDF?
Hello.
For PDF/A the Tags should be added by specification.
There could be different tags in the PDF files.
Could you specify what do you need to remove?
Maybe it's already possible to do.
Thank you.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Currently we have PdfACompliance turned off during Export to produce PDFs using Stimulsoft.
I know this does not imply that Tagging won't occur.
Our customer only presented us with this screenshot to indicate the tagging they would like turned off.

They were not more specific other than to indicate that they "had seen examples where they do not" preserve or pass-through tags when processing PDFs.
I understand it is not clear. It isn't to us.
Edit. We've received further clarification.
"These a requirements given by NZ Post, the tagging issue is more of an advisory requirement, as NZ Post can’t guarantee the quality of the Letter due to the tagging, but have implied that it most likely will not affect the letter."
I'm not familiar with the PDF specification for tagging in PDF, apart from:
"A conforming writer is not required to produce tagged PDF documents; however if it does, it shall conform to these rules."
From chapter 14.8 in the following; Portable document format 1.7:

Re: turning off Tagged PDF?
Hello,
In the property window of PDF file, option "Tagged PDF: yes/no" shows depends on the present one string in the file:
"/MarkInfo<</Marked true>>"
in the Adobe Acrobat, this property is only set if all the necessary conditions are met.
but when you create third-party utilities, this line does not actually display the actual contents of the file.
those, the file can be Tagged, but if "/Marked false" is written, then "Tagged: false"
and the file can be without any tags at all, but if this line is present, will "Tagged: true"
Thank you.

Thankyou for that information Lech.
We'll pass that information on to our customer.
Hopefully there won't be any issues.
