javascript check for report is dirty

In a report manager UI we are writing we show the sti report designer in an iframe. In the parent window we want to ask the user to save changes when they try to navigate to another report. To do that we need to know if the report in the designer is dirty.

So
Is there already a flex function on the designer we can call to check is dirty?
If yes, how?

If no,
Can you add some javacript to the designer page we can use to check the dirty status of the designer?

On the current moment this feature is not avaiable. We have plans to realize Javascript API for WebDesigner, but it is hard to say the deadline of it.
