Placing two bands side by side

Hi I have a need to position bands that align vertically (i.e on same row). Currently when I place a band on the report layout, it snaps onto the full page width forcing me to place the next band below the first band. However that is not the layout I am looking for. Is there any way to place two bands side by side.

Yes it is possible to place two or more bands side by side. This task may be done by using a Container object in your report. Example which shows this ability you can find in Demo application from the standard delivery in the group "Containers". An example name is "Side by Side List".
