some bugs

Some bugs I found when working with the web designer today:

- collapse a databand with components on it, preview page and go back. Result: all text from the collapsed band is still visible and going through the rest of the page. You have to expand/collapse the band to get the designer ok again. This is also the case when just opening the designer.
- copy/paste/cut does not work with keyboard (CTRL + C, CTRL + V, CTRL + X)
- no undo/redo functionality (CTRL + Z, CTRL + Y)
- it is very very hard to place a text component on the left side of a databand (snapped to the border), the text component goes to the background and behind the databand
- html output is not correct when grow to height is set to true when text components are placed down on each other
- when copy/pasting a databand, the (text) components are placed on the mousepointer position, not on the correct position on the databand
- when dragging a datasource column to the textfield in the expression editor, no brackets are placed around the column name, brackets are only placed when dropping the text on the end.

Hopefully you are able to solve these.

Another problem with collapsing/expanding databands. When collapsing a databand, saving the report, closing the designer and open it again; expanding the databand does not work, the arrow says the band is expanded, but the size of the band is still the same when it was collapsed.

I am using the latest prerelease version 2010.06.15

Thank you for the detailed bug report.

- copy/paste/cut does not work with keyboard (CTRL + C, CTRL + V, CTRL + X)

This is not implemented, because web browser does not allow to intercept this key combination. Please use the Shift key.

At this moment there is an active development of the web designer, in synchronously with Reports.Fx. These errors will be corrected. The new version will be available in end of summer.

This feature will be implemented after the above modifications.

Some more:

- The checkbox does not show at all, I tried everything to get it work but simply drag/drop it to a databand, set value to true does not work.
- Checkbox 'checked' property should be an expression editor I think, no text editor
- Sometimes selection with my mouse does not work, so there appears no selection rectangle when I click on a component. Closing and reopening the designer solves the problem. Don't know how to reproduce this, it happens every now and then.
- When dragging a line, if you go up with the mouse the line goes up to, but if you go down with the mouse the line stays at is top position and does not go with the mouse. Shouldn't the line keep its initial height?
- Clicking on a component and be able to change text without having to open the expression editor is a nice feature in the winforms designer, maybe an option?
- Click and holding CTRL key and copy/paste or move a component does not always give the same result, sometimes I have to do it over for 3 times to get it to work.

I saw you did some work on the checkbox by reading the prerelease notes.
Yes it does work when exporting to HTML or PDF, but it does not work in the preview of the designer and also not in the StiWebViewerFx.

We have recently fixed this error. Please send us a report which reproduces this issue.

- Drawing a vertical line with the height heigher than the, for example, header band, the header band becomes invisible

We will try to fix this error in release build.

When are you planning to resolve thes bugs? I did not check them all, but many of them are still there in the latest prerelease version.

Hello,

At this moment the Web Designer is fully rewritten, a lot of innovations and features are added, including ones you described. Now this Web Designer is in beta testing and will be included in the first prerelease build immediately after the official release 2010.2 (in mid September).
