Merging data with CanGrow and CanShrink functions

Post by khan »

Hello.
I have some trouble with CanGrow function after using Merge - the rows after first row viewed with the same height and has large empty area.
How can I fix it - I need small height of the rows?

It is good, if we prepared data without text in merging cells after first row. But can we do something else?
Here is the sample what we want to get.

Hello,

Can you please send us a simple report with test data which reproduces the issue for analysis.
Also, please clarify which viewer and version are you use?

Thank you.

We have done the same, but in our sample the height in not merged cells the same to the first row. But we need the height in not merged cells shrink to the value in that cells.

Hi Khan,

If the duplicated values are merged always for more than 3-4 rows, then the following solution is possible:
Processing duplicates 2 And CanGrowFalse.mrt
The height for the first column is always at its minimum. If there are no duplicates, then the last column will not grow which is a problem.

The result is fine as far as there are many rows that are duplicated.

If the last column is not duplicated and the text in that textbox is multiline, then the textbox height needs to be calculated dynamically somehow.

Thank you,
Edward

Hello,
if we use with CanGrow=true, our report will be printed 1,5 times more pages than need. If we use CanGrow=false text doesn't fit into merged cells.
