How to build a library of styles to use on multiple reports?
How to build a library of styles to use on multiple reports?
I'm currently trialling Web based JS version. I want to create a number of styles collections and then use them ACROSS different reports. Currently every time I start a new Report all my styles have to be recreated. That is not very useful.
Also is there a way of accessing the styles from the themes that are shipped with the product?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,
Thank you for the question.
https://youtu.be/9XSLxf6vas0?t=72 - please watch video. There, in the form of styles in the toolbar, you can find buttons to load and save styles to a file.
Let us know whether it is what you are looking for.
Thank you.

Andrew this is exactly what I wanted. Thanks very much.
Re: How to build a library of styles to use on multiple repo
Sorry Andrew I was too quick in replying because I thought once I'd saved the styles in a file I would get back what I had saved.
However although I can save the styles in a file when I open them again in another report there is nothing from the styles that's saved:
- not their names
- not their formatting
- not their conditions
Unless I'm doing something wrong they are useless in the new report. I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong because I know that your software is usually very good and I'm doing something wrong.
Please advise me.

Hi Kubekin
I noticed you also had 2017.1.4 so I downloaded that and tried it with that too but the same results.

I've noticed that if I create a style AND apply it in the report and then save the styles then the styles are correctly saved and I can retrieve them. However if I just create a style but do NOT apply it in the report then the style is saved but WITHOUT all the other attributes of name, condition etc.

Hello, Nexar.
We found an issue on style collection save.
The update will be available in the next version of the product 2017.1.5.
Thank you.

Kubekin thanks very much for letting me know. I'll look out for 2017.1.5. Is there a way of subscribing to a list which tells you when a new version is available please?
