Viewing Strips in Line Charts

Post by ianwelsh »

I am trying to display temperature data, over time, for a number of different refrigerated assets, in line-chart form, and include on each the assets optimal working range (or a min/max range). Each asset has it's own optimal range meaning this range would have to be set dynamically.

I've successfully created a report displaying the line chart for each asset, but am having trouble showing this optimal range. I'd like it to look like how the Strip looks on charts, so I thought that's what I should use, but I encountered two problems: 1) I couldn't figure out how to set the Strip's min/max values dynamically, per sensor, and 2) the line chart doesn't resize the y-axis to include/display the Strip (many of these charts has temperature data so far outside this "optimal range" that the Strip wasn't visible on the chart).

The whole point of the report is to show viewers both the data AND how far outside it is from it's optimal range, so both are key to the report.

Can you help me display visualize this range, either with the Strip or another feature of which I hadn't thought? Thank you for any suggestions! :)
