Unable to filter a Band with a Created Variable

There is only one data band in this report its called Client.

Client Contains ,ClientID and Client Name.

I have created a Variable Called ClientIDToBeCompared.

When I create a Filter for the Client band I specify Column Client ID is Equal to the ClientIDToBeCompared Variable that I created.

The Variable Called ClientIDToBeCompared Contains the Same Id String that The ClientID holds but it doesn't seem to register this to successfully filter.

You did not set "Filter On", also use an expression if you want to filter data by variable.
