Handling Close button on Ribbon menu

In the Designer on the Ribbon menu, under File, there is a Close button. This closes the report that's been loaded into the designer.

Since we want to control the loading and unloading of Reports through our COM interface I was wondering:

1. If the Close button can be hidden
or
2. can the Close button event be intercepted
or
3. can the method that the Close button calls be derived
or
4. some way I haven't thought of
