Is markdown supported in the reports?

We have comment section that supports Markdown (the screenshot above comes from there) and we want to display it through simple Text component.
Right now we are considering to work it around by converting all Markdown to HTML tags, but it has its own limitations as not all of them are supported (as per another thread created above this one).
