Is there any alternative for RDLC for creating custom reports in .net core ?
Actually, I have complex reports that take tonnes of parameters and a DataTable to display custom pdf reports. The issue is I want a drag and drop tool in Visual Studio that helps me create consistent pdf report designs that can be used in .net core (.net 5.0).
RDLC Alternative in .Net core?
Re: RDLC Alternative in .Net core?
I do not use Net.core but .Net. It should be a similar experience.
I use Stimulsoft instead of RDLC for reporting in my applications, though to be fair I still have a couple of reports in RDLC yet. I came from Crystal Reports and found Stimulsoft to be we a good fit. I converted dozens of Crystal Reports to the Stimulsoft platform. You can use just about any .Net/SQL script to generate your reports. Loads of opportunity for custom queries, parameters, stored procs, etc.
You can download the Stimulsoft objects via Nuget install them into your application. In those item is a report view and designer. You connect to your datasource which is just about anything. Create a query, get your data. Its pretty much drag and drop, then customize as needed.
What I like about it, is that it is a banded report format. I understand that better probably because of my CR days.
There a various report tools out there, but after trying many I have settled in with the Stimulsoft platform. It is a good strong reporting tool and the support has been excellent.
Give it try before you buy.
