Ability to Minimize Band and child items?

Is there a way to minimize a band which would hide all items that are a child of the band?

Some of our imported reports stretch the bands to the point where they fill up the entire editor window. Resizing the bands is not effective because the fields and other items associated with the band remain visible even if the band is resized above the position of the child item.

At this point, I am simply editing the mrt file in a text editor to adjust items in the report / page footers which are hidden below the other items visually since trying to use "Send to Back", "Bring to Front" and other z-axis adjustment tools didn't have any effect on the bands and their associated child items.

I would send you an example report or show you a screenshot, but I don't think these particular reports are ones that my company would feel comfortable with me sending out.
