Encoding option in CSV export

Post by angelomarcon »

When exporting a report to a csv file, and then reimporting into Excel, the import fails by default unless the text file is ANSI rather than Unicode. We noticed that there is an encoding option in the CSV export, but the only thing in the drop down is Unicode. Are there supposed to be other options?

Encoding option in CSV export

Hello,

If you mean a native version, then only ANSI is available. This is a limitation of Silverlight technology.

Thank you.

I don't follow you, the only option is UNICODE there is no ANSI option. When you talk about native I presume you mean native Silverlight

Hello,

Sorry. My bad. I meant UNICODE. This is a limitation of Silverlight technology. On the current moment we cannot change something.

Thank you.
