Advice about saving in compressed format

I save on disk all produced reports.

I have choosen to save in compressed format (.mdz), not standard format (.mdc) for disk space reason. Is there something that i must be aware? Some difference between compressed and uncompressed format? Example, the time required to decompress a compressed report if i choose to see it in the viewer?

Or i can consider one format the same as the other, except for the disk space?

Report which saved into mrz format equal to report saved to standard format and packed with zip archiver. Rename file with mrz extension to file with zip extension. After then you can unpack your report.
