How to design mrt for Nested Lists

Hi

I have a List of objects and one object of the list contains list of other object. Now I need show Master detail report type. I am not sure how I can add datasource/business object so that if the nested list does not contain any item then it should show plain object of first list while if it has items then nested list should be displayed under first item.
