Master Component Grouping
Master Component Grouping
I have a report that I need to group a component by a couple of fields, then have a list of items below it related to that item. I have it set up with a Master-Component report and it works fine, but I have an issue when there is more than one of the master. The Master is grouped correctly, showing 1 row, with a QTY of 2 and only showing the infomration for the master once. The detail however, is ouput on the report for each. I have the grouping set up on the detail component, but it still repeats multiple times.
I've attached the data, report, and a PDF of the output. As an example, look at the first item. The Drawer Front Solid Wood has a QTY of 2, grouped together, but the individual parts that make up that drawer front are listed out twice. Further down, there is a QTY of 3, grouped, with the detail listed 3 times.
How do I adjust so that in the first example, the detail would list once under each master, allowing me to sum the QTY on the detail to show the total qty of detail parts.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

I agree that the grouping at the Master level you've shown is working correctly. If you look at the Detail component however, it is listing the detail once for each record in the master instead of grouping the detail together. I want the QTY 2 for that first item, but then I only want to see one set of lines showing the Drawer Bottom Rail, Drawer Left Stile, Drawer Right Stile etc.
