.NET on TerminalServer: attach report to a mail

Post by gandalfbp »

Gentlemen,

I have a problem when I want to attach the report to a mail (Stimulsoft Report .NET 2011.1). The environment: Windows Server 2008 R2 Terminal Server, Office 2010 x64. Outlook is set up as default e-mail client. When I view the report via the Viewer, I click on the Send e-mail icon on the top, than select Adobe PDF file. Than I export and save the file, but when the fresh e-mail has to appear, I got the following error message: "Either there is no e-mail client or the current mail client can not fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as default mail client".
If I try with any other file type, I got the same result. I have no problem on my local computer (Win7 x64, Office 2010 x64), only on the Terminal Server. I checked also the web with Google for the error message, found several threads where people complain about it but no registry hack described there helped me out.
Any idea how to make it work?
Thanks:

Peter

.NET on TerminalServer: attach report to a mail

Hello.

It's a known problem. If you have installed 64-bit version of the Office you should call it from 64-bit application. It seems that your application is 32-bit.

Thank you.

Well, actually I compiled an x64 app, and when I look in the TaskManager, it shows also without the *32, so I presume it is a real x64 app.
Anyhow, I made a workaround, using MAPI wrapper. It is just not nice that it is not working.
Thanks:

Please, read about this problem:
Thread: Outlook 2010 64-bit default mail-client
TechNet: 64-bit editions of Office 2010

Maybe it will help you.

Thank you.
