Printing to HP printer causes Blue Screen

Hello Sandy,

Your problem is really hard. I don't know what we need do in .net to show blue screen. :surr: May be problem in some characters or combination of characters which printer can't print. I don't know. I don't see any links between relations in dictionary and blue screen. Very strange problem!

Does the Blue screen give any description of the error apart from the usual hex dump memory locations?

What OS are you printing with XP, Vista? 32/64bit.
Does it Blue screen under both OSes?

No, the blue screen just gives the hex dump.

We are running 32-bit XP. I will ask our customer that also has the problem if he has VISTA and can try it there.

Looks like the same problem is happening with VISIO 2003 and large files.

They suggest downgrading the printer driver. I'll try that when I get a chance.

My customer says, "I just "downgraded" the driver from 6 to 5e and the report printed!"

It's an HP thing.

Please close this issue. Sorry I bothered you so much. I never thought to downgrade a driver (only upgrade it).

My boss has an HP 1320 which is fairly new. Every time she goes to print, it gets the blue screen of death feared (full memory dump). If it prints to a color printer, it works great. I tried the updated drivers for the printer which caused problems with all other programs, and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer, but it still happens. Does anyone have any suggestions?
