Rich Text Field Height In Word / Excel

Post by krtko »

Hi, we are using Stimulsoft Reports.Net 2008.

We have report containing data source with some RTF fields. When we display it in HTML version using StiWebView or export it to PDF, everything looks ok, but when we use the Word or Excel version, the RTF fields are stretched to smaller height. It's unusable. Are we missing something?

And connected question - the Rich Text field is presented as text if we use RTF export, but in Word / Excel export is presented as an picture. Can this behavior be set somewhere? We prefer formatted text for our solution.

Thanks for your response.

Please send the rendered report template (mdc file) for analysis.

In Word 2007 and Excel 2007 in edit mode can look different from the preview. But in preview and while printing everything must be as expected.

RTF is a native format for the RichText that is why it is displayed as text in RTF export.
Adding RTF to Excel, Word2007 and Excel2007 is very difficult and now we can not work in that direction.

Thank you.

Ok, thank you for your response. We have are using now the RTF exports instead of Word, so there is no need to send the template for analysis.

We are facing another problem with RTF - we have quite long text containing automatic numbering in RTF. After binding it to the report, the cell spans across multiple pages. But the numbering is restarted at every new page.

For example the numbering start with items 1., 2., 3. filling the whole first page and on the second page the numbering starts again from number 1 (instead of continuing normally with item 4., and so on).

Is it known issue? Can it be solved somehow?

Hello.

We couldn't reproduce the issue. Could you please send that rtf file to support[at]stimulsoft.com for analysis.

Also please try to update riched20.dll as it was suggested here:
