print render fault

Post by brianj774 »

Hi,

I am finding that I'm getting reports of odd formatting coming out of our report. In the linked file, you can see that the document on the left is not being rendered onto the print surface properly. (the document on the right is of no concern in this discussion). In most cases we have expected behavior, but in a handful of circumstances, some of our customers are reporting issues with the printers in a similar fashion (ie, the image rendered on paper is not properly dealing with scaling, and/or margins, etc.)

what can I do to guarantee functionality for all my customers?

I'm not sure what other details I can offer.

I have a report. It prints just fine most of the time.

Periodically, I get reports that it prints wrong.

Here is an example. (see above)

Here's the report definition attached...

Hello.

What product do you use?
If you use Banyon product. You should apply to Banyon support.

Thank you.

I have a flex application, with a stimulsoft based 'receipt' report. Our product is meant to replace their existing Banyon implimentation.

(I did mention above that the right-hand document in the pdf was not a matter of concern....)

So, back to where we started....

I have a stimulsoft report, which, infrequently, fails to print properly. It appears to be hardware related, as the exact same report prints out just fine on other hardware.

In the attached pdf above, you will find a copy of two receipts, the right hand one is from a system we are replacing for our customer, but is included to show that, at least in some cases, the printer generated acceptable output. The document on the left is a stimulsoft based receipt, and you can clearly see that it is not printing properly.

I need to get to the bottom of this situation. This is not the only report for which I've seen this type of behavior (I've also seen it on 8.5" x 11" reports).

Thank you.

Hello.

We need time to test the Reports.Fx for Flex with thermal printers and will notify you about results.
Among this, please, check paper size in the printer settings in your system because flash don't allow to set paper size.

Thank you.

Hello,

We cannot reproduce the error. Please check your printer's paper size in the system print dialog. Try to change these values, does it affect on the printing quality? Unfortunately, Flash Player cannot set the printer's paper size, so these settings should be set manually in the system print dialog.

Thank you.
