Custom character not showing up in report
I have created a custom character to be used on the report, but it is not displaying in the report. The character can be seen correctly from Notepad, Word, Windows Form, etc. Is there a way to make that character show up? Please take a look at the attachment which shows the problem.

Re: Custom character not showing up in report
All I did was created a small sample report with just a textbox and place any custom word in it. You can duplicate this problem by creating a custom word using the truetype app build-in within os and then insert the word into a textbox on the report. The custom word does not show up in the reportviewer but it shows up in other word processing applications.

Hello.
What font do you use in report?
Are you sure that this symbol is in this font?
Thank you.

Re: Custom character not showing up in report
Hi,
The "customized" font was created using a small utility called PCE that comes with Windows OS. You should be able to find it under C:\WINDOWS\system32\eudcedit.exe
Here's a link which demonstrates how to create a customized font
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/create-you ... s-windows/
After the font is created, I just do the same steps described in the previous posts.
Thanks,
Ricky

Hello.
We couldn't reproduce your issue.
We created a custom symbol and it is displayed in the Designer.
Try to copy it from the Character Map as shown on the image. Thank you.

Re: Custom character not showing up in report
Hi,
I have attached a zip file containing a short screen capture and the template to show you what I did. As you can see at the end of the .wmv file, the character is still showing as 2 boxes.
Is there anything wrong in those steps to add the character to the report?
Thanks,
Ricky

Hello.
The Designer read fonts at initialization.
And you run Designer at first and then create a new character.
We have reproduced your issue in this order. But if you close the Designer and run it again your character will be placed in the report right.
Thank you.

Re: Custom character not showing up in report
Hi,
It works when the designer's text quality property is set as "standard", but if I change it to "WYSIWYG", then re-opening the designer will not work.
